RIGOR MORTIS Guitarist Rejoins MINISTRY, Band Future 'Uncertain'
January 29, 2003Texan thrashers RIGOR MORTIS have been forced to postpone their reunion bid after guitarist Mike Scaccia decided to accept a lucrative offer to rejoin MINISTRY for their upcoming tour. As a result of this, "plans for RIGOR MORTIS are, for the time being, uncertain," reads an official statement from the group. "Mike has made it clear that he is not quitting the band and we hope to work on new material between legs of the MINISTRY tour. Although this is a big disappointment for the rest of the band, we understand Mike's reasons for taking MINISTRY's offer, and can only hope that this may work to our benefit in the long run. Meanwhile the rest of us will keep busy with other projects. [Bassist/vocalist] Casey [Orr] will be playing some February shows with THE BURDEN BROTHERS and [drummer] Harden [Harrison]'s band SPEEDEALER are discussing another album project, possibly with Casey on bass. New singer Dave Woodard has plans to record an album with PORNLAB for Metal Blade Records. On a brighter note, the long-awaited re-release of RIGOR MORTIS' debut CD is on schedule and should be available by the first of March."
